Privacy Policy

Introduction

At Speechlab, Inc. ('the company', 'we', or 'us'), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through this privacy policy ('Policy' or the 'Privacy Policy'). This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use our product, Speechlab ('the product', 'the service', 'the website', 'the app', or 'product'), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information. Your use of the Product and Services and any information you provide on the Services are subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service.

Data Collection

We collect information you provide, create, or upload to the service, as well as information collected automatically and from third-party sources, as described below. For the purpose of this policy, Personal Information is defined as information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with or describes an individual or household, either directly or indirectly. Personal information of users is not collected by a third party from the service for the third party’s own use. Please note that we use a third-party provider, Paddle, to handle payment processing and payment information. Paddle captures payment information directly within the services to process payments. Aggregated or combined information, representing a collective summary of data, is treated with the same level of confidentiality and protection as personally identifiable information (PII) on our platform.

How we use your personal information

Speechlab limits the collection and processing of data to only what is necessary to deliver the service. This includes the context or purpose for which data is collected as indicated above.

Data is not collected by the product or service for the purpose of tracking. Partners and third-parties may not create data profiles for personalised advertisements. User-created content is reviewed, screened, or monitored by the company.

We maintain a formal Data Retention Policy to establish clear guidelines on the lifecycle management of our data, bolster data security, and demonstrate a commitment to responsible and transparent data management practices within our organization.

We delete Personal Data upon account cancellation or termination. In some cases, we may retain Personal Data beyond the length of time that you have an account with us in order to resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or otherwise. Anonymized data, which is no longer attached to you personally, may be retained for longer periods of time.

How we share your personal information

Collected information may be shared with third parties. The categories of information shared with third parties include contact data, user content data, geolocation data, usage data, and behavioral data.

Third-party services are used to support the product and may process information as part of supporting the product. This includes account management, security and compliance, analytics, app functionality, and payment processing. Payment processing is handled directly by Paddle, a third-party payment processing service provider. Personal information is shared with marketing service providers. We place contractual limits on third-party data use and Personal Information is not sold or rented to third parties.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or bankruptcy, user information may be transferred to an acquiring third party. Third-parties with access to information are required to provide the same security protections as the company. Data is not collected by third parties for the purpose of tracking.

Users can control how their data is displayed to others. We provide authorized employees a method to access or review a user's personal information in accordance with our security and access policies.

Users have the option to opt-out or unsubscribe from Speechlab’s marketing communications.

To use our Products and Services, you are required to create an account. During the account creation process, we will collect certain information to establish and manage your account effectively. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, and a password of your choice.

Your account allows you to personalize your experience, track your activities, and access additional features. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your account information in accordance with this privacy policy.

We understand the importance of safeguarding your data, and therefore, we provide methods to control and restrict access to it. Our platform is equipped with access control mechanisms, allowing you to define and manage permissions for your data.

Other sites and services

The Service may contain links to websites, mobile applications, and other online services operated by third parties. These links are not an endorsement of, or representation that we are affiliated with, any third party. In addition, our content may be included on web pages or in mobile applications or other online services that are not associated with us. We do not control websites, mobile applications or online services operated by third parties, and we are not responsible for their actions. Third-party login is not supported for our Products and Services.

Cookies

Our Product may use cookies to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize our Product, or register with our Product or Services, a cookie helps our Product to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the Product, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the features that you customized.

All data in transit is encrypted. All data is stored in an encrypted format. Users will be provided notice in the event of a data breach.

Speechlab reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy. Speechlab will provide notice to users if material changes are made to the context in which data is processed. Upon material changes to the Privacy Policies, Speechlab will obtain consent from users for the collection and processing of data.

Your Privacy Rights

Except as otherwise provided, this section applies to residents of states where they have privacy laws applicable to us that grant their residents the rights described below.

For purposes of this section, “personal information” has the meaning given to “personal data”, “personal information” or similar terms under the applicable privacy laws of the state in which you reside. Please note that not all rights listed may be afforded to all users.

Children's Privacy Notice

Speechlab is not designed to be used by children under 13 years of age or teens. Parents and Guardians have the right to revoke consent for any collection of their child's personal information and request that any data collected from their child is deleted at any time.
